This is shot is a “side product” from a photo shooting. While waiting for the set to be finished, I looked around and discovered this nice mixture of haze, a touch of sunlight and the early snow on the far mountains.
When I worked on a concert for the Styriarte 2017 at the Freilichtmuseum Stübing, we finished the load-in and the setup early, so we have to wait for the evening show. A part of this barn was used as a storage place for our equipment, the dressing rooms and the FOH area – all at once. In the late afternoon the sun floated through giving this nice lighting…
Lot of Work in the lighting discipline the last weeks. First, there is the planing, designing and preparations for the upcoming
Styriarte 2017 festival – you will find all the information here :http://styriarte.com/styriarte/
I’m also doing he programming for a production of Cyrano de Bergerac by the Schauspielhaus Graz at the Moment. It will premier this Saturday at the Kasemattenbühne in Graz, Austria. http://www.schauspielhaus-graz.com/play-detail/cyrano-de-bergerac
So long days and short nights… I’m really looking forward to picking up a camera again…
Like i already mentioned in my last post, with my new website http://www.thomasbernhardt.at
online now, the content I will post on this blog will slightly change.
I would like to show more backstage information, also about my second profession as a lighting designer in the entertainment industry.
So here I have the pleasure to tell you about a recurring collaboration with one of my favourite clients: The Styriarte in Graz, Austria.
Again, I will work for Psalm, their annual Easter music festival which will happen between April the 9th and April the 17th at the Helmut List Halle, Graz, Austria. (http://www.helmut-list-halle.com/home).
I have done a lot of work in this venue over the years, so it’s also a kind of homecoming for me. To know the people, to know the gear to work with, makes live a lot easier during lighting a festival, were you have to expect the unexpected always.
The theme of this years festival is “fruitful” (Fruchtbar in German), and they produced a very nice festival subject:
In my design I will try to follow this intentions as far as possible with the lights, the mood and the colours, despite too much red can get easily too much in a nightclub setting. So to keep the balance there is important.
You can find the program of the festival and a lot of information about the artists and their music here on Styriartes website:
I will post some shots of the lighting and the festival as soon as possible,
See you soon!
